Castle Hill Public School院校介绍

Castle Hill Public School, established in 1879 but rebuilt in 1998, has close to 800 students coming from a range of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. Our students have fifty different first languages at home, and while fifty percent have English as their first language, the other main language groups are Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Hindi and Arabic.

The school is able to gain high academic standards from its students which can be attributed to the effectiveness of its teaching programs, the dedication of teachers and the commitment of families to the education of their children.

Students participate in many programs beyond the academic curriculum. The school offers a variety of opportunities for participation in sport and the performing arts. Each of these contributes to the lifelong learning of students. The school also makes a substantial contribution to the maintenance and development of the values of students. Despite the variety of cultures in our school population, the family values that children bring to school are homogeneous. The school supports and demonstrates those values as a key component of each student’s personal and social development.

Castle Hill is a suburb of Sydney located 45km north-west of the Sydney CBD in an area generally referred to as the Hills District. Castle Hill Public School, a New South Wales government school, was founded in 1879 and lessons commenced on 12th July 1880. At that time, Castle Hill was a rural community and the original building comprising a single classroom and teacher’s residence provided for sixty-four students.

As the school and its community grew, additional land was acquired and buildings added. In the late 1980s there were 1,500 students enrolled but with the building of other schools nearby, the student population has settled at around 800 boys and girls. In 1992, the decision was made to relocate Castle Hill Public School and a site was acquired. Building commenced mid 1997 and the new Castle Hill Public School was completed in October 1998.

Today Castle Hill Public School students enjoy a school with state-of-the-art facilities provided by the NSW Department of Education and Communities, enhanced greatly through the efforts of the school's parent community. Our school is an important part of an established community which places great emphasis on high educational standards as well as the provision of a friendly, safe and secure learning environment for our students.
