  Strathfield Girls High School is situated in a well established and highly sought after residential area. The school was established as a single sex comprehensive high school in 1953 and designated a languages high school in 1990. Eighty five percent of its students are from non-English speaking backgrounds. It is close to major transport links, excellent facilities at Homebush Bay and tertiary institutions. The school is highly regarded because of academic and sporting excellence, high achievement in the creative and performing arts, school wellbeing and social harmony.

  The languages high school designation of the school symbolically promotes a secure multicultural environment for a diverse student population where tolerance and understanding of the cultural groups the school serves are priorities. Strathfield Girls High School provides a caring and friendly environment where students are challenged to do their best in all fields of endeavour. Students are encouraged to make a significant contribution to society and gain confidence and self esteem to take initiative and achieve self reliance and personal fulfilment.

  Strathfield Girls High School (SGHS) was established as a single sex comprehensive high school in 1953 and was designated a languages high school in 1990. Fifty-six different cultural groups are represented in the school population and we promote acceptance and respect as well as valuing and celebrating our cultural diversity.

  The school has a vibrant environment where students develop a lifelong love of learning, guided by caring teachers who recognise and nurture their individual strengths. The schoolˇs motto, ¨Pass on the Torch of Life〃, highlights our commitment to quality teaching and learning. Our school is proud of its successes, including above state average achievements at the School Certificate and Higher School Certificate.

  Students at our school enjoy the experience of learning. They excel academically, in sport, in music and performing and creative arts as well as in a range of cultural and social activities. I am extremely proud of the achievements of staff, students and parents in meeting the challenges of the 21st century and always managing to improve the learning opportunities for all students. Our school is a fun place to learn and all students are challenged in the learning process and supported to exceed expectations.

  Strathfield Girls High School provides a caring and friendly environment fostered by a professional body of committed staff who provide stimulating learning opportunities. Students are empowered to achieve self-reliance and to become confident, responsible and successful young women. There is a strong focus on quality teaching and learning in a safe environment that promotes individual excellence and the achievement of personal best.
