However, some birds thrive(兴旺) noisy vironts. A study from California Polytic University found more hugbirds  areas with heavy dustrial ery. It is thought that they are capitalisg on their predators(天敌)g to quieter areas.

No one is sure how the t Egypts built the pyrids near Cairo. But a new study suggests they used a little rock'n'roll. Long-ago builders could have attached woo pole s to the stones d rolled t across the sd, the stists say.
"Tically, I tk what they're proposg is possible," physicist iel Bonn said.
People have long puzzled over how the Egypts moved such huge rocks. d there's no obvious swer. On average, each of the two million big stones weighed about as much as a large pickup truck. The Egypts smehow moved the stone blocks to the pyrid site from about one kilometer away.
The most popular view is that Egypt workes slid the blocks along smooth paths. y stists suspect wokers first would have put the blocks on sleds(滑板). T they would have dragged t along paths. To make the work easier, workers may have lubricated the paths either with wet clay or with the fat from cattle. Bonn has now tested this idea by bug small sleds d drg heavy objects over sd.
Evce from the sd supports this idea. Researchers found small ounts of fat, as well as a large ount of stone d the rs of paths.
However , physicist Joseph West tks there might have  a spler way , who led the new study . West said , "I was spired while watg a television progr shog how sleds might have helped with pyrid construction . I thought , 'Why don't they just try rog the tgs ?' " A square could be turned to a rough sort of wheel by attg woo poles to its sides , he realized . That , he notes , should make a block of stone "a lot easier to roll t a square".
  So he tried it.
He d his stuts tied some poles to each of four sides of a 30-kilogr stone block.That action turned the block to somewhat a wheel.T they placed the block on the ground.
They wrapped one d of a rope around the block d pulled.The researchers found they could easily roll the block along differt ds of paths.They calculated that rog the block required about as much force as movg it along a slippery(滑的)path.
West hasn't tested his idea on larger blocks,but he tks rog has clear advtages over sg.At least,workers wou't have needed to carry cattle fat or water to smooth the paths.
46.It's widely believed that the stone blocks were moved to the pyrid site by ______.
A.rog t on roads
B.pusg t over the sd
C.sg t on smooth paths
D.drg t on some poles
47.The undered part "lubricated the paths"  Paragraph 4 s____.
ade the paths wet
ade the paths hard
ade the paths wide

A.Rog the blocks with poles attached.
B.Rog the blocks on woo wheels.
C.Rog poles to move the blocks.
  D.Rog the blocks with fat.
49. Why is rog better t sg accorg to West ?
   A. Because more force is needed for sg.
   B. Because rog work  be done by fewer cattle.
   C. Because sg on smooth roads is more gerous.
   D. Because less preparation on paths is needed for rog.
50. What is the text ly about ?
   A.  expert on ways of movg blocks to the pyrid site.

   C.  argut about differt methods of movg blocks to the pyrid site.
